UTAH VALLEY AND GRAND CANYON ON TOP OF WAC STANDINGS
Utah Valley and Grand Canyon sit atop of the conference standings as the last two teams with a perfect win percentage at 3-0. The Wolverines are riding on a hot streak winning the last six matches, outscoring their opponents 24-7 in that span. Both teams find themselves higher up the women’s soccer RPI rankings as GCU moved up to 68th and UVU climbed to 83rd.
FAITH WEBBER BREAKS ALL-TIME UVU GOALS RECORD
On October 3, Faith Webber scored her 41st career goal, making her Utah Valley’s all-time leading scorer. Webber surpassed the previous record of 40 set by Heather Stainbrook (2019-2023). She is now tied for seventh all-time in the WAC. Webber scored 14 goals in 2022, 16 in 2023, and is currently at 11 goals through 14 games this year. Webber continues to lead the nation in shots per game (5.86) and is tied for fifth with her 11 goals.
TARLETON STATE HANDS CALIFORNIA BAPTIST FIRST WAC REGULAR SEASON LOSS SINCE 2022
Last Thursday, Tarleton State defeated California Baptist 2-1, snapping the Lancers’ 11-match WAC regular season unbeaten streak dating back to Oct. 29, 2022. It was Tarleton State’s first win against the Lancers in program history. The Texans were the first team to score multiple goals against CBU this season and the most since Sept. 28, 2023.
KASSIDY KIRGAN MOVES TO THIRD ALL-TIME IN CAREER SHUTOUTS AT SEATTLE U
Kassidy Kirgan and the Redhawks shut out Southern Utah on Thursday in a scoreless draw, marking Kirgan’s third shutout of the year and ninth of her career. This shutout moved her into third place all-time in Seattle U program history, breaking a tie with Ashley Routh (2015-17).
GRAND CANYON REACHES 100 DIVISION ONE WINS
The Lopes collected their second conference win against Abilene Christian 2-1 on Thursday, marking the team’s 100th Division I-era victory. Grand Canyon made the move up to NCAA D-I, and the WAC, in July 2013 and they now look to conquer its third conference tournament title.
