ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon’s Paula Martinez Moreno and California Baptist’s Audrey Thordarson-Wehner have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Swimmer and Diver of the week, for the competition week ending on Monday, Oct. 7.
 
Martinez Moreno, a junior, collected five first-place finishes including three individual wins in a three-team meet with Seattle U and California Baptist. Martinez Moreno won the 100 butterfly (55.75), 100 backstroke (56.58), and the 200 butterfly (2:03.39), all ranking inside the top 50 nationally. She was also part of the winning 200 medley (1:43.55) and 400 medley (3:45.19) relay teams.
 
Thordarson-Wehner, a sophomore, cruised past the NCAA Zone Qualifying marks last weekend at Pepperdine, solidifying her trip to the NCAA postseason on opening weekend. Thordarson-Wehner won both the 1-meter dive (273.30) and the 3-meter dive (311.70).
