PHOENIX – No. 5 San Jose State and No. 3 California Baptist earned a pair of 1-0 victories on Sunday night in the opening round of the 2024 WAC Men’s Soccer Tournament at GCU Soccer Stadium. San Jose State advanced to face top-seeded San Diego State on Nov. 13 at 4 p.m. MST in the first WAC semifinal, while CBU is set to square off with No. 2 seed Seattle U at 7 p.m. MST in the nightcap on Nov. 13.
San Jose State advanced to the semifinal round of the WAC Men’s Soccer Tournament for the second time in the last three seasons, and the sixth time overall in program history. CBU, the two-time defending conference tournament champion, has yet to lose a match in its third separate trip to the WAC tournament, improving its aggregate record to 5-0-1 since debuting in the event in 2022.
