ARLINGTON, Texas –Grand Canyon’s Alyssa Durazo-Frescas has been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Nov. 17.
 
Durazo-Frescas, a senior guard, scored 22 points with three rebounds and two steals in Grand Canyon’s 70-59 win against a Big 12 opponent, Arizona State. Durazo-Frescas knocked down six three-pointers, two shy of tying the GCU program record for threes in a game. Durazo-Frescas scored 14 of her 22 points in the second half, helping the Lopes come back and defeat the Sun Devils for the second year in a row.
