2024 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships Results
MADISON, Wis. – California Baptist’s
Zouhair Redouane and
Valentin Soca posted national top-40 finishes to guide the CBU men’s program to a 13th place team showing at the 2024 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships on Saturday at the Thomas Zimmer Cross Country Course.
CBU scored 376 points as a team in the men’s 10K to earn the first top 15 NCAA team finish by a Western Athletic Conference (WAC) men’s cross country program in nearly 30 years (BYU, 10th, 1995). The Lancers boasted three top-100 individual runners and finished six slots ahead of their original championship seed of 19th.
Redouane, the reigning WAC Cross Country Freshman of the Year, climbed 34 spots over the final 4K of the championship race to post a time of 29:18.8 for 26th place individually. Redouane narrowly missed out on the first WAC men’s national top-25 individual placement since the 2004 NCAA Championships. Soca continued his strong postseason by closing strong in 33rd place with a time of 29:22.0.
Daniel Abdala cracked the national top 100 in 95th place with a time of 29:52.8. Other scoring runners for CBU included
Pedro Marin (115th place, 29:59.3) and
Gabriel Guzman (177th place, 30:30.3).
