California Baptist and Seattle U Survive and Advance to Semifinals in WAC Women’s Soccer Tournament

ABILENE, Texas – The top seeds of No. 4 California Baptist and No. 3 Seattle U won the rainy quarterfinal matchups and advanced to the semifinals of the 2024 WAC Women’s Soccer Tournament. The Lancers defeated Tarleton State 2-0 and the Redhawks took down Utah Tech 2-0 as well.
 
California Baptist will take on No. 1 Utah Valley on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 4 p.m. CT, and Seattle U will face No. 2 Grand Canyon at 7 p.m. CT.
 
No. 4 California Baptist 2 – No. 5 Tarleton State 0
 
The Lancers advanced to the semifinals following Lauryn White’s second career brace and her first two-goal game of the season. The match was deadlocked after the first 45 minutes, but White wasted no time in the beginning of the second half and scored the game-winning goal in the 46th minute.
 
The Lancers dominated on the defensive end of the field and held the Texans without a shot on goal all 90 minutes.
 
No. 3 Seattle U 2 – No. 6 Utah Tech 0
 
Bella Bonnett and Kailee Wilson both picked up their third goals of the season in the Redhawks 2-0 victory over the Trailblazers. Bonnett broke the tie with the game-winner in the 74th minute and Wilson added some insurance just five minutes later with the team’s second goal of the night.
 
Seattle U outshot Utah Tech 15-3 in the match with Kassidy Kirgan picking up three saves on the night.
