ABILENE CHRISTIAN EXTENDS WINNING STREAK TO FIVE GAMES
Abilene Christian continued its hot streak and extended its winning streak to five after claiming two victories from UTRGV 59-45 and East Texas A&M 74-59. The Wildcats are led by Payton Hull who leads the WAC in scoring (18.2 PPG) and is 12th in the nation in total points scored this season with 200. The Wildcats look to take their 4-1 road record into week seven where they will have three games on the road coming off 10 days of rest.
 
GRAND CANYON COMPLETES BIG 12 ARIZONA SWEEP
After defeating Arizona State 70-59 earlier in the season, Grand Canyon took down Arizona 69-66 last week to complete the Big 12 Arizona sweep and remain undefeated against its in-state rivals. The Lopes’ victory over Arizona was their fourth win in their current five-game winning streak, extending their nonconference record to a 7-2 mark. The Lopes ranked 86th in the NCAA women’s basketball NET rankings and 13th in the latest College Insider’s Mid-Major Top 25 Poll.
 
UT ARLINGTON TAKES DOWN HOUSTON
UT Arlington returned home for its first home game in nearly a month and defeated Houston 61-57. Three Lady Mavs scored double digits in the contest including this week’s WAC Newcomer of the Week, Koi Love, who logged in 14 points and 12 rebounds. Avery Brittingham also recorded a double-double with a team-high 16 points and 10 rebounds. This was UTA’s first win over a major conference opponents since the 2019-2020 season when the Lady Mavs defeated Kansas State. This was also UT Arlington’s fourth straight win against the Cougars.
 
GRACE BOOTH SETS TARLETON STATE FRESHMAN REBOUND RECORD
Freshman guard Grace Booth led Tarleton State to a 99-34 victory over LeTourneau where she collected her first career double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Booth’s 13 boards set a new TSU D-I program record for the most single-game rebounds by a Tarleton freshman. Booth also tallied five steals, three blocks, and three assists in the Texans win. The Texans will take on their second Top 25 team this season in week seven when they travel to No. 24 Nebraska on Wednesday, Dec. 11.
