SOUTHERN UTAH, UTAH VALLEY REMAIN UNBEATEN AT HOME THUS FAR IN THE 2024-25 SEASON
Southern Utah extended its record in true home games this season to 6-0 with a 90-55 win over Park University on Dec. 3 at the America First Event Center in Cedar City. Southern Utah shot a cumulative 47.6 percent from the floor in its first six home games, outscoring the opposition by a cumulative 87.7 to 64.8 points per game average. The Thunderbirds also have owned the glass on their home floor, pulling down 45.3 rebounds per game to the 36.8 rebounds per contest for the opposition in true home games. The Thunderbirds remained one of two WAC programs yet to suffer a loss at home as of Dec. 17, along with Utah Valley (3-0).
CBU’S DANIELS CLAIMS SECOND WAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD OF THE SEASON

Dominique Daniels Jr. won WAC Player of the Week for the second time this season on Dec. 16. Daniels Jr., who was previously recognized as the conference’s top player the week of Dec. 2, scored 22 points and added six assists and three rebounds to his stat line in a competitive 81-75 defeat at No. 23/24 San Diego State on Dec. 11. Daniels Jr. registered 10 points and all of his assists and rebounds during the second half of the contest at San Diego State, pulling CBU withing two possessions late in the game.
UTA’S WARE MAKES HIS MARK FELT AS CONFERENCE NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK
UT Arlington transfer forward
Lance Ware earned WAC Newcomer of the Week for the first time after averaging 14.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 2.0 steals for the Mavericks in a 1-1 week. Ware logged 11 points, seven boards and four blocks in a narrow loss at Arkansas State on Dec. 12 before pouring in 17 points, six rebounds, three blocks and two steals in a home victory over ULM on Dec. 14. Over his first six career starts at UTA, Ware is averaging 2.5 blocks per game to lead the WAC.
MONCRIEFFE REMAINS IN THE NATIONAL TOP 10 IN DOUBLE-DOUBLES

Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe remained ranked among the national top 10 players in double-doubles this season as of the latest NCAA Division I statistics report on Dec. 16. Moncrieffe registered a conference-high five double-doubles over his first nine starts in 2024-25 to rank ninth in the country in the metric.
DANIELS JR. AMONG THE BEST SCORERS IN THE COUNTRY

Dominique Daniels Jr. has continued his hot start to the 2024-25 season scoring the basketball, checking in ranked 10th in NCAA DI in points per game with 21.5 as of Dec. 16. Daniels Jr. has crossed the 20-point plateau on seven different occasions over his first 11 starts this season. Daniels Jr. was also 11th in made field goals (83) and 12th in total points scored (237) as of the latest national statistics report.
