Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above WAC Women’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week Announced

ARLINGTON, Texas –Abilene Christian’s Payton Hull and Seattle U’s Taisiya Kozlova have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Dec. 1.
 
Hull, a sophomore, led Abilene Christian to its third straight road win by averaging 27.0 points on 73.3 percent shooting (22-of-30), which included 46.7 percent from beyond the arc (7-of-15). Against Sacramento State, Hull made 10-of-11 shots which consisted of four shots from beyond the perimeter and collected four rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Hull then posted a season-high of 29 points against FIU along with four assists, two rebounds, and a steal. Hull was named the Tournament MVP of the FIU Thanksgiving Classic.
 
Kozlova, a graduate transfer guard, averaged 15.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 1.5 steals for Seattle U, tallying multiple career highs last week. Kozlova combined for eight total triples, making four in both contests, shooting 50.0 percent from three (8-of-16) overall and tying her career best of threes in a game. Kozlova scored a career-high of 16 points, off a career-high six field goals made, and a career-high 10 rebounds for her first career double-double against UC Santa Barbara. She also had 14 points, six rebounds, two steals, and two assists in the Redhawks’ win over East Texas A&M.
