ARLINGTON, Texas – Abilene Christian’s Payton Hull and UT Arlington’s Koi Love have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Dec. 22.
 
Hull, a sophomore guard, collected her second weekly honor on the year after leading Abilene Christian to its eighth straight win and averaging 21.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 0.7 blocks in the Wildcats’ three games. Hull’s 29 points in ACU’s victory over New Mexico tied her season-high as her six 3-pointers made in the game set a new season-high and were the second most she has made in a game in her career. For the week, Hull shot 22-of-47 (46.8 percent) from the floor, 13-of-26 (50.0 percent) beyond the arc and 7-of-8 (87.5 percent) at the charity line. Hull leads the WAC in the scoring category averaging 18.9 points and is 12^th in the nation in total points scored with 264.
 
Love, a fifth year transfer forward, also claimed her second weekly honor this year after scoring 17 points in both UTA games last week and shooting 13-of-23 (56.5 percent) from the field. Love made 3-of-5 shots from beyond the perimeter and made all five attempts at the free throw line. She also averaged 7.0 boards, 3.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.5 blocks on the week. Love has scored 12 or more points in all but one game for UT Arlington so far this season and holds the second best scoring average in the conference with 16.3.
