ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington’s Lance Ware has been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Monday, Dec. 30.

Ware, a graduate transfer forward, scored 19 points and pulled down 12 rebounds while shooting 80 percent from the field (8-of-10) for UTA in an 80-72 win at Texas State on Dec. 29. Ware hit all five of his shot attempts in the second half and scored 12 of his 19 points over the final 20 minutes, gathering seven of his 12 rebounds after the break to help erase a 39-32 deficit and lead UTA to the victory.
