ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon’s Trinity San Antonio and UT Arlington’s Koi Love have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Dec. 8.
 
San Antonio, a senior guard, led Grand Canyon to its fifth straight win last week, averaging 18.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per game while shooting 70.6 percent from the floor. San Antonio posted a career-best 12 rebounds in GCU’s win at Arizona and notched a season-high 26 points for the double-double against the Wildcats. She also recorded 10 points and eight rebounds while going a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line in a home win over Utah State. San Antonio leads the WAC in steals 2.9 per game and ranks 23^rd in the country.
 
Love, a graduate transfer forward, collected her second double-double of the season in UT Arlington’s victory over Houston. Love finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds off the bench and led the Lady Mavs with four assists on the night. Love is currently second in the WAC in scoring with 16.1 points per game.
