ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon’s Natasha Puehse and Seattle U’s Lamija Avdic and Lola Tavcar have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Tennis Players of the Week, for the match week ending on Sunday, Feb. 11.
 
Puehse (Sr.) collects her second singles award on the year after going 3-0 on the weekend, all in straight sets on the number one court. Puehse got her first nationally ranked opponent win in her career, beating #79 Caroli Gomez Alonso from Arkansas 6-3, 6-3. Puehse then started off the Sunday double-header with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win against Idaho’s Selin Sepken and capped off her big weekend by setting a GCU D1 career record with her 55^th singles win, defeating UC Riverside’s Brionna Nguyen 6-1, 6-1.
 
Avdic (Fr.) and Tavcar (So.) won all three of their matches on the weekend, helping Seattle U to a 2-1 weekend. The pair took down New Mexico’s Maud Vandeputte/Bente Vandeputte 6-2, Eastern Washington’s Kenzington Mann/Leandra Nizetic 6-4, and secured the Redhawk’s doubles point against Gonzaga’s Caroline Wernli/Ella Nielsen 6-3.
