ARLINGTON, Texas –UTRGV’s
Symoria Adkins and Abilene Christian’s
Ja’Dasia Sims have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, for the meet week ending on Sunday, Feb. 11.
Adkins (So.) took fifth place in the Jarvis Scott Open’s 60-meter hurdles finals with a time of 8.36. Before the finals, Adkins notched a UTRGV program record time of 8.22 in the preliminary heats, which places her second on the WAC charts and 38
th nationally.
Sims (Jr.) posted a third-place finish in the high jump during the Jarvis Scott Open. Sims recorded a mark of 1.77 meters (5-9.75), putting her atop of the conference and 47
th in the country.
