ARLINGTON, Texas – The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) announced on Wednesday its Women’s and Men’s Swimming and Diving Pre-Championship Coaches Poll presented by adidas, as voted on by the league’s eight women’s and six men’s head coaches. Northern Arizona was predicted to finish first for the women, while UNLV was picked to take the top spot for the men.

The Lumberjacks were slotted ahead of Grand Canyon and Northern Colorado in the women’s projected top three of the pre-championship coaches poll. Grand Canyon’s men team was picked to finish second, while Wyoming rounded out the top three.

NAU looks to win its 11th straight WAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship title. Last year, the Lumberjacks took first place with 835 points, totaling more points than Grand Canyon who finished second with 605 points. The Lumberjacks have key returners in Casey Caffrey and Maddy Rey, who each have won WAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards this season.

UNLV aims to win its fourth straight WAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Championship Title.
The Rebels dominated the 2023 WAC championship meet with 838 points, finishing ahead of Grand Canyon (627.5 points). Two-time WAC Men’s Swimming & Diving weekly award winners, Adnan Beji and Alez Vazquez are key contenders that look to propel the Rebels to another first-place finish.
