ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington’s Joan Torres Espinosa and Dante Teramo have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Tennis Players of the Week, for the match week ending on Sunday, Feb. 25.
 
Espinosa (So.) played a big role for the Mavericks this week as UTA took down Texas Tech for the first time since 2001. Espinosa defeated the Red Raiders' No. 85 Olle Wallin in the number one singles court 6-4, 5-7, 6-2. With this win, Espinosa picks up his fifth win of the spring and moved to 11-2 overall on the top court.
 
Joining Espinosa for the doubles award is Teramo (So.) collecting his third weekly award of the year, his first as a double. The pair took the number one doubles court and captured the win against No. 39 Sebastian Abboud/Piotr Pawlak of Texas Tech 6-3. The victory was the duo’s fourth win of the spring as they move to 8-4 overall.
