ARLINGTON, Texas – Abilene Christian’s
Daniel Morozov and
Dario Kmet have been named the
TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Tennis Players of the Week, for the match week ending on Sunday, Feb. 4.
Morozov, a junior, won all three of his matches at number one singles for the Wildcats during a 3-0 homestand. Morozov did not drop a set in contests against UT Perman Basin, Hardin-Simmons and Lamar, downing UTPB’s Takumi Katsuda 6-3, 7-5, HSU’s Justus Petersilie 6-2, 6-3 and Lamar’s Max Amling 7-6, 7-6.
Morozov and Kmet, a senior, captured the top weekly doubles nod in the conference for the second time this season after earning a pair of victories at the number one court. The duo defeated UTPB’s Grzegorz Rudnicki and Jonas Krahofer 7-5 and avenged a 2023 loss to Lamar’s Amling and Haruki Omori-Cowie by a 6-1 score.
