ARLINGTON, Texas – Stephen F. Austin’s Kurstyn Harden and Utah Tech’s Calyn Dallas have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Mar. 10.
 
Harden, a redshirt senior center, earned WAC Player of the Week for the second consecutive week after recording her 12th and 13th games of the season scoring over 20 points and has done that for the past four games. She led the team with 23 and 24 points in the two games against Southern Utah and Utah Tech. Harden averaged 23.5 points last week and recorded 19 rebounds averaging 9.5 per game. She also recorded three assists and four blocks.
 
Dallas, a freshman guard, averaged 15.0 points on 58.8 percent shooting (10-of-17), including a hot 8-12 (.667) from behind the 3-point line in the Trailblazers two wins last week. She also averaged 7.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.5 steals.  She tallied 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting with three 3-pointers, and collected four boards, one assist and one steal in Thursday’s win over UTRGV. Dallas then notched her second-career double-double with a team-high 19 points and 10 rebounds in Saturday’s win over Stephen F. Austin. Dallas went 6-of-8 from the floor, including 5-of-6 from the perimeter. Her five 3-pointers tied a career high, while nine of her 10 rebounds came on the defensive end.
