ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon’s Kristin Fifield and Emily Darwin have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Mar. 11.
 
Fifield, a graduate student utility player, recorded a .471 batting average in the Lopes 4-1 weekend against San Diego State, Princeton, Long Beach State, Yale and North Dakota. Fifield tallied eight runs, eight hits, two doubles, four RBI’s, an .824 slugging percentage and a .500 on base percentage.
 
Darwin, a junior, went 1-0 on the week against Princeton and had three appearances. Overall, Darwin pitched 7.2 innings, allowing four hits and two runs. She recorded two strikeouts and a 0.91 ERA.
