ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon’s Ramsay Lopez and UT Arlington’s Jessica Adams have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Mar. 3.
 
Lopez, a graduate student infielder, hit her first-career grand slam in a 13-6 win over Toledo on Sunday. In the Lopes 5-0 weekend against Montana, Pacific, New Mexico and Toledo (twice), Lopez recorded a .571 batting average, eight hits, three home runs, 13 RBIs, 1.214 slugging percentage and a .611 on-base percentage.
 
Adams, a junior, threw the second perfect game in program history, becoming the first to ever do it in a full seven-inning contest. She also marked UT Arlington’s eighth no-hitter in a 1-0 victory over Incarnate Word. The junior finished with a low 1.00 ERA with two wins (TAMU-CC on Feb. 29, UIW on Mar. 3). Adams tossed 10 strikeouts, limiting opponents to a .187 batting average.
