ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon’s Katelyn Dunckel and UT Arlington’s Jessica Adams have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Saturday, March 30.
 
Dunckel, a senior infielder, finished the week with a .529 batting average, nine hits, seven runs, two home runs and seven RBIs. She also recorded a .941 slugging percentage, .579 on base percentage, six assists and a 1.000 fielding percentage.
 
Adams, a junior, went on to throw 14.1 innings with a 0.49 ERA across the last week of competition as the righty made appearances against North Texas and Southern Utah. Adams threw her fourth complete game of the season, guiding the Mavericks to a 7-0 win against the Thunderbirds as UTA went on to secure its first sweep of the year. In the three outings, Adams limited opponents' offense to just one earned run.
