ARLINGTON, Texas – Southern Utah’s
Jaedyn Carpenter and UTRGV’s
Jedidiah Udunna have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, for the meet week ending on Sunday, Apr. 7.
Carpenter (Fr.) ran to the top of the WAC 400-meter rankings this weekend at the UNLV Home Meet. Carpenter is now the only athlete in the WAC to break 46 seconds in the 400-meter event, clocking in a time of 45.94 winning the meet’s event. Carpenter also checks in the top 15 nationally, having the 13
th best time in the country.
Udunna (So.) set a new personal-best and broke his own UTRGV outdoor long jump record in a highly competitive field at the Texas A&M’s 44 Farms Invitational. Udunna placed fourth in the meet with a jump of 7.92 meters (26-0.00) putting him first in the WAC and tenth in the nation. The two student-athletes that placed ahead of Udunna in College Station are ranked first and second in the country, the third being a non-college participant.
