ARLINGTON, Texas – Abilene Christian’s Miller Ladusau and California Baptist’s Lukas Pirko have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, April 14.

Ladusau, a senior outfielder, batted .615 with a home run, four doubles, five RBIs, a .600 on-base percentage, a 1.154 slugging percentage and six runs scored over four games against Texas Tech and UC Davis. Ladusau opened the UC Davis series 3-for-4 with a double, stolen base, two RBIs and a run on April 12, two hits, two RBIs and two runs in game two on April 13 and 2-for-4 with a solo home run and three runs scored in the series finale on April 14.

Pirko, a freshman right-handed pitcher, set the tone for CBU in a Friday start on April 12, helping throw the first of three consecutive combined shutouts for the Lancers against Stephen F. Austin. Pirko scattered two singles and allowed one walk over six full innings, striking out four batters on 74 pitches. Pirko allowed only one baserunner to reach second base during the game, in the first SFA ups of the game, and threw 53 pitches for strikes.
