HARLINGEN, Texas – The WAC Tennis Tournaments at the HEB Tennis Center began with the lone men’s quarterfinal match of #5 UTRGV and #4 Seattle U, with the Vaqueros prevailing 4-0 over the Redhawks.
 
The Vaqueros opened the match by taking the doubles point, winning courts one and two. Emilien Burnel and Ivo Isqueiro captured court one 6-4 with UTRGV teammates Paolo Bonaguro and Santiago Serrano winning court two 6-3. Seattle U was able to capture court three before the completion of other courts, with Yu-Han Hsieh and Filip Stipic coming out on top 6-2 for the Redhawks.
 
UTRGV won three straight set wins in the singles session to secure the match win for the home team. Agustin Salazar won court four 6-2, 6-4, Burnel won court one 6-3, 6-4, and Will Roberts clinched the victory in court five with a 7-5, 6-2 win.
 
UTRGV will now move on to the semifinals where they will take on the regular season champions and #1 seed UT Arlington at 9 AM CT.
