ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon’s Ashely Trierweiler and Stephen F Austin’s Brooke Gainous have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Apr. 21.
 
Trierweiler, a graduate student outfielder, batted .677 (10-15) with three doubles, one home run, five runs and six RBIs. Trierweiler had three multi-hit games last week including two hits in the Lopes 5-4 win over Arizona State on Apr.16. She also had two stolen bases, 29 putouts, one assist, a 1.067 slugging percentage and a .625 on base percentage.
 
Gainous, a junior, pitched a complete game in her appearance against Utah Valley this weekend in a 1-0 series finale that clinched the series win for the Lumberjacks. In her 7.0 innings pitched, she allowed three hits and recorded a 0.00 ERA on 77 pitches.
