Seattle U, Abilene Christian's Honea Headed to NCAA Regionals

ARLINGTON, Texas – After winning WAC titles last week at the Rim Golf Course in Payson, Arizona both Seattle U and Abilene Christian's Ryann Honea found out on Wednesday afternoon where they will be headed for the NCAA Regionals.

Seattle U will stay in state at the Tumble Creek Club in Cle Elum, Washington as the No. 12 seed. The Redhawks will be joined by top-seeded Stanford, Duke, Arizona State, Virginia, San Jose State, Washington, Alabama, Virginia Tech, Kansas, Long Beach State and Sacramento State from May 6-8.

Honea, who won WAC medalist honors with a 4-over-par 217, will compete as an individual at the Bryan Regional. She will be one of six individuals at the regional, hosted by No. 2 seed Texas A&M.

The top five teams (30 teams total) and the low individual not on an advancing team (six individuals total) from each regional site will advance to compete in the national championships to be played May 17-22 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.
