ARLINGTON, Texas – Tarleton State’s Hugo Menin and Grand Canyon’s Israel Oloyede have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, for the meet week ending on Sunday, Apr. 21.
 
Menin (Fr.) competed in the 400-meter hurdles at the Michael Johnson Invitational hosted by Baylor University. Menin placed fourth out of 33 competitors with a time of 51.46, the best time by a collegiate student-athlete in the meet. Menin’s time ranks second best in the WAC and just cracks the country’s top 50.
 
Oloyede (Gr.) made his way to the top of the WAC leaderboard in the hammer throw by 13 meters this past week in the 64^th Annual Mt. SAC Relays. Oloyede threw a mark of 74.84m (245-6.00), placing third in the meet ahead of competitors from major conference schools. Oloyede’s mark is also now the third best hammer throw in the nation, with the two athletes placing higher in the meet being the top two in the country.
