UT Arlington To Face #11 Oklahoma in NCAA Men’s Tennis Regionals

ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington men’s tennis squad found out on Monday afternoon that they are heading to the Norman Regional to continue their postseason play against #11 Oklahoma.
 
UT Arlington will take on the Sooners on their home court on May 3rd. The Sooners are 20-4 overall and 6-1 in the Big XII. Oklahoma dropped their semifinals match to No. 3 TCU 4-1 in the Big XII Championship. The Mavericks will also be joined by SMU and Stanford in the regional.
 
The Mavericks are coming fresh off of winning the WAC Men’s Tennis Championship in Harlingen, Texas where they took down Grand Canyon 4-3 in the finale. Andres Medus clinched the WAC title for the team after winning the championship-deciding match on singles court four. Medus joined Dante Teramo and WAC Player of the Year, Joan Torres Espinosa, on the WAC Men’s All-Tournament Team.
 
The first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament will take place May 3-4, followed by the Super Regionals occurring May 10/11. Quarterfinals will be held May 16th, semifinals on May 18th, and the NCAA DI Men’s Tennis Championship will be decided on May 19th
