ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Valley’s Burke Camper and Grand Canyon’s Grant Richardson have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, April 28.
 
Camper, a senior catcher/designated hitter, was a fixture on base for the Wolverines during a series win at California Baptist. Camper batted .556 with three extra-base hits, four RBIs, an impressive .778 on-base percentage, a 1.111 slugging percentage and eight runs scored across the three-game set. All told, Camper reached safely in 14 of 18 plate appearances over the weekend. Camper was aboard three times and scored two runs in game one on April 26, ripped two hits, drove in two runs, walked three times and scored three runs in a 15-9 win on April 27 and reached six times, with three hits, and belted the go-ahead home run in the top of the 12th inning to score his third run of the day in an 8-7 win on April 28.
 
Richardson, a sophomore left-handed pitcher, was dealing for GCU in a 7-0 win at Seattle U on April 26, earning his first win of the season. Richardson went six shutout innings and allowed one hit and two walks, striking out a career-high 10 batters on 85 pitches in the victory.
