ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist’s Valentin Soca and Grand Canyon’s Jack Hodge have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, for the meet week ending on Sunday, Mar. 31.
 
Soca (So.) competed in the Stanford Invitational’s 10K that was full of multiple All-Americans including Stanford’s two-time national champion, Ky Robinson. Soca came away with an 11^th place finish with a time of 28:14.96, 0.19 seconds off from a top-ten result and one spot ahead of Robinson. Soca’s time would set a new personal best and serve as the CBU program record in the 10K. Soca also checks in atop the WAC leaderboard in the 10k and cracks the NCAA’s national top-ten.
 
Hodge (Gr.) took part in the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays’ pole vault where he secured a runner-up finish in a highly competitive field and set a new GCU men’s pole vault school record with a mark of 5.50 meters (18-0.5). Hodge’s vault is now the best mark in the conference and seventh best in the country.
