ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist’s Yasna Petrova and Abilene Christian’s Ja’Dasia Sims have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, for the meet week ending on Sunday, Mar. 31.
 
Petrova (Sr.) competed in the Stanford Invitational’s 10K which included some highly talented competitors. In the 34-runner field, Petrova pulled off a top-five finish and placed fourth in the meet with a time of 32:36.97, only 14 seconds behind first place and 0.50 seconds off from a podium finish. Petrova’s time set a new personal best, outpacing her previous record by 49 seconds which was set at last year’s Stanford Invite. Petrova also now has the best 10K finish in CBU’s program history by nearly 50 seconds. Petrova stands alone on top of the conference 10K rankings and checks in at fifth in the nation.
 
Sims (Jr.) leaped to the top of the conference high jump leaderboard this weekend in the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. Sims recorded a mark of 1.75 (5-8.75) which puts her first in the WAC and 35^th in the country. Sims was also part of ACU’s 4x400 relay squad who put down a time of 3:45.99 also checking in atop of the conference rankings.
