ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon’s Joanna Archer and UT Arlington’s Kaliah Jones have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, for the meet week ending on Sunday, Apr. 28.
 
Archer (Sr.) took home the gold in the Desert Heat Classic’s 800 meters event, outrunning opponents from major conference schools. Archer won the event with a time of 2:04.17 which is a new best time in the WAC this season. Archer also now holds the 44^th best 800 meters time in the country.
 
Jones (Sr.) competed in the high jump at the Texas Invitational, capturing a third-place finish ahead of competitors coming from major conference schools. Jones jumped 1.75 meters (5-8.75), tying for the best mark in the conference and putting herself tied for 75^th in the nation.
