ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington’s Joan Torres Espinosa, Solano Caffarena, and Pedro Sasso have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Tennis Players of the Week, for the match week ending on Sunday, Apr. 7.
 
Espinosa (So.) takes his fourth weekly singles award of the year and makes his way into the top 100 in the ITA national rankings landing at #88. Espinosa won his lone match of the week at Abilene Christian, defeating the ACU’s Daniel Morozov in the top singles court 6-2, 6-3. Espinosa now sits at 15-2 overall and has won twelve matches in a row on court one.
 
Caffarena (Gr.) and Sasso (Jr.) helped the Mavericks secure the doubles point over the Wildcats this past weekend as the pair secured their first match win together. The duo took down ACU’s Morozov and Cesar Barranquero 6-3 on the top doubles court.
