ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist’s Nicholas Dumesnil and Grand Canyon’s Hunter Watkins have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Saturday, May 18.
 
Dumesnil, a sophomore outfielder, earned his third weekly conference honor of the season after batting .579 with a home run, three doubles, seven RBIs, a .619 on-base percentage and six runs in his final four games of the regular season. Dumesnil registered four straight multi-hit outings, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored in game one at Utah Tech on May 16, 3-for-4 with two RBIs in game two on May 17 and 3-for-6 with a home run, three RBIs and three runs in the series finale on May 18.
 
Watkins, a freshman right-handed pitcher, spun four innings of one-hit relief in game two of the final regular season series against Utah Valley on May 17. Watkins allowed a lone double and issued one walk, striking out eight Wolverine batters on just 46 pitches to earn the win in a 9-3 GCU victory.
