ARLINGTON, Texas – Tarleton State’s Kelci Hill and Grand Canyon’s Megan Schumacher have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Saturday, May 4.
 
Hill, a senior outfielder, batted .800 (8-for-10) with six doubles over three games. Three of those doubles came in a game three 8-7 walk-off victory against Southern Utah which punched Tarleton State’s ticket to the 2024 WAC Softball Tournament. She had six runs scored, three RBIs and 17 total bases. Hill also had a .818 on base percentage, 1.700 slugging percentage, 5 putouts and two stolen bases.  

Schumacher, a graduate student, allowed just one run in six inning pitched in a 2-1 win over Abilene Christian on May 3. Schumacher posted a 1.17 ERA, had four strikeouts and a .143 opposing batting average.
