2024 WAC Softball Tournament - WAC Tournament 

WHO’S READY FOR SOME SOFTBALL?

Tournament time has finally arrived. The 2024 University Credit Union WAC Softball Tournament will take place at Logan Field in Seattle, Washington from May 8-11. The top eight teams in the WAC standings during the 2024 season will have a chance to win a tournament title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
 
TARLETON STATE AND SOUTHERN UTAH ROUNDS OUT TOURNAMENT FIELD 
During the last week of conference play, two spots were up for grabs as Abilene Christian, Southern Utah, Stephen F. Austin and Tarleton State were all in the running for tournament contention. Tarleton State won the series over Southern Utah to claim the No. 7 seed with a WAC record of 9-16. Stephen F. Austin loss the series to California Baptist and was then tied with Southern Utah with a WAC record of 9-17. Southern Utah would ultimately earn the No. 8 seed since the Trailblazers won the series over SFA during the conference slate. No. 1 Grand Canyon, No. 2 California Baptist, No. 3 Utah Valley, No. 4 Seattle U, No. 5 Utah Tech and No. 6 UT Arlington completes the tournament field.
 
TOO TURNT TRIERWEILER 
Grand Canyon’s Ashley Trierweiler was named the 2024 WAC Player of the Year after leading the WAC with a .489 batting average over 26 conference games, which included two home runs and 18 RBIs. Trierweiler had an on base percentage of .544 and led the conference in runs scored with 32 during WAC play. She added 169 putouts and nine assists in the field for the Lopes.
 
PITCHER PERFECT 
Grand Canyon’s Hailey Hudson was selected as the 2024 WAC Pitcher of the Year after posting an undefeated record of 8-0 and a 1.89 ERA across 11 games (9 starts) in the circle for Grand Canyon. Hudson pitched two complete games and one shutout during conference play, a 1-0 win over Stephen F. Austin on Apr. 26. Over 55.2 conference innings pitched, Hudson issued 44 strikeouts and had an opposing batting average of .228.
