ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Valley’s Omar Yehya and Alex Fritcher and UNLV’s Hugo Lemos have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Soccer Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, for the match week ending on Monday, Sept. 16.

Yehya, a redshirt senior midfielder, repeated as the conference’s offensive player of the week following a three-goal performance for Utah Valley in a 1-0-1 week at home. Yehya converted from the penalty spot at 61:12 in a 1-1 draw with Cal Poly on Sept. 13 before adding the go-ahead penalty at 51:51 and an insurance goal at 85:33 of a 3-1 win over Lindenwood on Sept. 16. Yehya has registered at least one point in each of the seven Utah Valley matches thus far this season.

Fritcher, a junior midfielder, played a key role in the Utah Valley defense in a pair of results at home last week. Fritcher played all 90 minutes of a 1-1 draw versus Cal Poly as Utah Valley yielded four shots on goal and just its second goal allowed in the second half of a match thus far this season. Fritcher played the final 45 minutes against Lindenwood in a 3-1 victory where Utah Valley held the visitors to two shots on goal in the second half.

Lemos, a sophomore goalkeeper, earned his second clean sheet of the season for UNLV during a 1-0 win at home against CSUN on Sept. 15. Lemos was credited with five saves, including three in the second half, to preserve the shutout in the victory over CSUN.
