WAC 2024 WSOC Release Week 4

KEEPING LOSSES AT A LOW
In week three, the WAC flexed their muscles by only suffering one loss in thirteen matches. Five teams enter week four with one or zero losses on the year. Utah Tech (2-0-2) and Abilene Christian (1-0-3) remain the final two undefeated teams in the league.

SUNDAY SHUTOUTS
Last Sunday, the WAC went a perfect five-for-five in defensive shutout performances, all being on the road. GCU, CBU, TSU, and SU all collected victories while ACU recorded a scoreless draw. In total, the league held their opponents scoreless in ten out of thirteen matches in week three.

GCU JOINS UVU IN RECEIVING VOTES
For the first time in their program history, Grand Canyon has received votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll. This comes after GCU took home the championship in Hawaii’s Outrigger No Ka Oi All-Tournament. The Lopes receive three votes, joining Utah Valley who received eight votes following a tough battle with Long Beach State. Four teams were ranked inside the top 10 of the Pacific Region Poll: GCU in second, SU in fourth, UVU in ninth, and CBU in tenth.

MAJOR CONFERENCE TEAMS ON DECK
Utah Tech looks to stay undefeated as they travel to Arizona State, who is also undefeated at 4-0-2. In the Sun Devil’s six matches they have only allowed three goals. Utah Valley will face a couple of in-state foes as they host #11 Utah State and take on Utah on the road. The Wolverines will look to rebound from consecutive losses and get back in the win column this week.
