ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist’s Khloe Lemon and UT Arlington’s Koi Love have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Saturday, Jan. 11.
 
Lemon, a sophomore guard, shot 11-of-18 from beyond the arc on Saturday afternoon to finish with a career-high 39 points and led the Lancers to a win over Utah Valley. Lemon’s 11 made 3’s set the all-time single game record for CBU and tied the WAC record that was last reached back in 2013-14. It is also tied for the most 3’s made in a game in the country this season. Lemon’s 39 points were the most points scored in a game in CBU’s DI era, the most by any WAC player this year, and tied for the ninth highest scoring performance this year nationally. Lemon’s 18 attempts also broke the WAC record for most 3-pointers attempted in a conference game.
 
Love, a fifth year transfer forward, led UT Arlington to an undefeated 3-0 record in conference play after taking two wins last week. In those wins, Love averaged 21.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game while shooting 64.3 percent (18-of-28) from the field. Love recorded a double-double against Utah Tech with 24 points and 10 boards, her fourth double-double of the year. She has posted at least 14 points in each of her last seven games and has claimed the last four consecutive WAC Newcomer of the Week awards.
