2024-25 WAC WBB Week 12 Release
GRAND CANYON STANDS AS FINAL UNDEFEATED WAC TEAM
The Lopes continue to ride on the hot streak as they went down to Texas to take wins from Abilene Christian and Tarleton State and increased the third-longest active winning streak in the nation to 15 games. With Grand Canyon moving to 4-0 in conference play and both UT Arlington and California Baptist suffering their first conference loss, GCU stands atop the standings alone as the final undefeated team in WAC play. Grand Canyon also moved up the ranks in the latest College Insider Women's Mid Major Top 25 poll to fifth place, behind only South Dakota State (15-3), Harvard (13-2), Princeton (12-4) and Columbia (12-4).
VICTORY IN THE VALLEY
Utah Valley's women's basketball team followed the lead of the UVU men's team and went 2-0 last week, defeating UT Arlington 86-75 handing the Lady Mavs their first conference loss and going across the state of Utah to defeat Utah Tech 62-46 on its home court. Siblings
Cambree Blackham and
Ally Criddle had a pair of career nights against UTA as Blackham had a career-high 23 points and six assists while Criddle posted a career-high 18 points and matched her season-high of eight assists.

LANCERS OUTLAST TEXANS' LATE RALLY ON EDUCATION DAY
A crowd of nearly 4,300 screaming students was able to watch one of the closest WAC games of the year as Tarleton State battled with a California Baptist team that was shorthanded due to injuries. The Texans made a late fourth quarter rally with a 15-4 run to overcome a 13-point deficit and bring the game to within two points with a minute remaining. With 38 seconds left on the clock, WAC scoring leader
Khloe Lemon gave the Lancers an eventual game-winning jumper to extend the lead to four points as CBU would hold off Tarleton State in the final seconds to win 73-72.
Emma Johansson picked up this week's WAC Newcomer of the Week award after notching a career-high 18 points and six blocks against the Texans.
WILDCAT ROAD WARRIORS
Abilene Christian bounced back from a tough loss to GCU by going on the road on Saturday and taking down California Baptist 71-55 who was coming off a hot 3-0 start to WAC play. ACU was led by
Meredith Mayes who delivered a career night with 24 points going 10-of-12 from the field along with nine rebounds. This win moved Abilene Christian to 6-1 in away games this year, with the one loss coming to Texas Tech. The Wildcats will put their road strength to the test with two key in-state matchups coming up this week as they travel to Tarleton State on Thursday followed by UT Arlington on Saturday.
