ARLINGTON, Texas – Tarleton State’s Miannah Little and UT Arlington’s Koi Love have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Saturday, Jan. 25.
 
Little, a senior guard, scored a career-high 24 points to lead Tarleton State to a 79-54 win over Abilene Christian last Thursday. Little knocked down six 3-pointers and shot 60.0 percent from beyond the arc to go with five assists, four rebounds and four steals. Little is the first Tarleton State player in the DI era to hit six 3-pointers in a single game.
 
Love, a fifth-year forward transfer, picked up her sixth WAC Newcomer of the Week award after leading UT Arlington to back-to-back wins. Love averaged 17.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 1.0 assists last week and is now leading the WAC in scoring in conference games with 20.0 points per game. Love recorded her sixth 20-point game of the season against Seattle U where she posted 22 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. She was also one of four Lady Mavs to tally at least 10 points against Abilene Christian as she collected 12 points on the Wildcats.
