University Credit Union WAC Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week Announced

ARLINGTON, TX – Grand Canyon’s Germain Lemaitre and UT Arlington’ Desmond Frazier have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for the competition week ending on Saturday, Jan. 25.

Lemaitre earned his first weekly track honor after a record-setting performance at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational. The GCU junior broke his own school record in the 800 meters, clocking a time of 1:48.91 (converted from 1:49.52). His performance ranks first in the WAC this season and 15th in the NCAA.

Frazier, a senior, recorded a throw of 17.89m to secure fourth place at the Ted Nelson Invitational. His mark stands as a new indoor personal record, the best in the WAC this season, and the fourth-best in UT Arlington program history.
