ARLINGTON, Texas – Southern Utah’s Brooklyn Fely has been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Nov. 9.
 
Fely, a junior forward transfer from Umpqua CC, averaged 20.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in Southern Utah’s undefeated opening weekend where the Thunderbirds picked up two wins. Fely notched two double-doubles to kick off the 2025-26 campaign with 21 points and 11 rebounds against Park University Gilbert (AZ) and 20 points and 13 boards against Washington State. Fely shot .500 from the field (15-of-30) and made 11 free throws on 14 attempts (78.6%). Fely led the WAC last week in scoring, of all players who played multiple games, and tied for the most offense rebounds (9) in the league.
