WAC VB25 Release Week 12

WAC VOLLEYBALL POSTSEASON PLAY STARTS NEXT WEEK!
Next week on Thursday, November 20, the WAC kicks off the conference postseason volleyball tournament at the Moody Coliseum in Abilene, Texas, as all seven teams will have a compete for the WAC Tournament championship and a punched ticket to the NCAA Tournament. UT Arlington is the defending WAC Tournament champion, winning the title after a perfect conference season.

THE BATTLE FOR THE WAC REGULAR SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP/FIRST SEED IN WAC TOURNAMENT
One week remaining in the regular season, and one week left to determine who will be the WAC regular season champions and who will have the all-important first seed in the WAC Tournament that contains a bye into the semifinal round. Utah Valley currently holds the lead in the WAC standings at 9-2 with Utah Tech and Tarleton State trailing UVU by half a game at 8-2 each. The Wolverines play one match this week on Saturday, Nov. 15 at ACU. The Trailblazers and Texans each play two matches this weekend including the very crucial match on Thursday, Nov. 13 where Utah Tech hosts Tarleton State in a potential battle for the WAC regular season championship and the first seed in the WAC Tournament.

TARLETON STATE KEEPS MOMENTUM ROLLING WITH SIXTH STRAIGHT WIN
Tarleton State is the hottest team in WAC volleyball as the Texans are coming off a week where they defeated the top team in the league standings, Utah Valley, and swept Abilene Christian for their sixth straight win. Madison Rice-Locket picked up a season-high 21.5 points in the 3-2 victory over UVU, notching a double-double with 15 kills and 11 digs along with four total blocks (three solo) and three aces. After finishing last in last year’s WAC standings, and failing to make the conference tournament, the Texans have a very realistic chance to at least claim a share of the 2025 WAC regular season title.

WOODEN AND WOLVERINES CONTINUE BLOCKING DOMINANCE
As the league enters the final week of the regular season, Utah Valley, led by Bella Wooden, continues to be the best blocking team in the country. The Wolverines are first in the nation in blocks per set (3.55) and team total blocks (298.0). No other team in NCAA D-I volleyball averages more than 3.20 blocks per set or has more than 283 total blocks. Wooden leads the nation individually with 1.94 blocks per set and 163 total blocks.
