WEEKLY AWARDS | Saturday Successes All Result in Award Selections

Players of the Week produced from ACU, EKU, SUU and UTU

#UACFOOTBALL -- United Athletic Conference (UAC) Football announced its weekly award selections with all four recipients coming from winning Saturday squads, as announced Monday by the league office. Week 10 Player of the Week honorees included a trio of first-time winners in EKU's Marcus Calwise Jr. (Offensive), Southern Utah's Danny King (Specialist) and Utah Tech's Asa Chatman (Freshman), while Abilene Christian's Rashon Myles Jr. (Defensive) picked up his second award of the season.

A sophomore wide receiver, Calwise Jr. posted a career single-game high with three touchdown catches and 106 receiving yards in EKU's 34-13 road win at UCA.  He scored two five-yard touchdowns in the first half before hauling in a 50-yard bomb for his third score of the game in the third quarter. Calwise became the first Colonel to have over 100 yards receiving this season, and the first since 2022 to have a trio of TD grabs in a contest.

Myles Jr., topped the Wildcats' defense with 11 total tackles including six solo stops in their homecoming victory over in-state rival and No. 2-ranked Tarleton State. He collected 3.0 tackles for loss in the game highlighted by a pair of key quarterback sacks.

The redshirt-sophomore placekicker, King was a kicking jack-of-all-trades in the T-Birds win over No. 22 Austin Peay. He was 2-for-2 on field goals, including a 43-yarder and a 52-yard blast that tied him for second longest in the SUU Record books. King netted 118 punting yards placing two of his three kicks inside the 20-yard line to keep the Govs offense pinned deep in their own territory. He also handled the kickoff duties for the Thunderbirds, recording five touchbacks on the day.

Chatman, a redshirt-freshman running back, helped lead the Blazers to their first UAC win of the year rushing for a career high 101 yards on 18 carries. He posted a career-best two rushing touchdowns, including the eventual game-tying score in OT Utah Tech's 34-33 home win over UNA. In addition, Chatman caught three passes for 17 yards and finished with a career-best 118 all-purpose yards.
