ARLINGTON, Texas – Air Force’s James Winterfield has been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Swimmer of the Week, for the competition week ending on Sunday, Feb. 9.
 
Winterfield, a junior, claimed his third consecutive WAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week honor after placing first in all three events he competed in at the DU First Chance Invitational. Winterfield locked in a personal-best and ninth WAC-best time of 48.46 in the 100 backstroke. He recorded another person-best of 44.40 in the 100 freestyle, the tenth best time in the conference. Winterfield also posted the fourth best 100 butterfly time in the WAC, clocking in at 47.70.
