ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington’s Winnie Kipsang and Grand Canyon’s Taryn Burkett have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, for the competition week ending on Saturday, Feb. 15. 
 
Kipsang, a sophomore, showcased a remarkable performance in the 800-meter at the Jarvis Scott Invite. Kipsang shattered her own school record in the women's 800m, posting a time of 2:05.42, which now stands as the fastest in the conference by almost seven full seconds. She currently holds the top rank in the WAC for both the 800m and the mile and is ranked 48th in the NCAA for the 800m as of Feb. 14. 
 
Burkett continued her dominance in the conference's field award, earning the top field performer title in the WAC for the fourth consecutive week following her performance in the triple jump at the 2025 Riverfront Multi’s. Burkett leapt to 13.06m, maintaining the best mark in the WAC this season and achieving a rank of 23rd in the NCAA.
