ARLINGTON, Texas –UT Arlington’s Avery Brittingham and Koi Love have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Saturday, Feb. 1.
 
Brittingham, a fifth year forward, picked up her second WAC Player of the Week honor this year after averaging a double-double last week with 20.5 points and 14.0 rebounds per game. Brittingham has recorded a double-double in the last four games and has led UT Arlington to a win in each of those matchups. Brittingham posted a season-high 25 points against Southern Utah and tied her season-high in rebounds with 17 boards against Utah Tech. Brittingham leads the league with 11 double-doubles on the season and is one of 22 players in the country to accomplish that feat. She also leads the WAC in rebounding with 9.7 boards this season.
 
Love, a fifth-year forward transfer, makes up the second half of the Lady Mavs’ dynamic duo as she claimed her seventh WAC Newcomer of the Week honor this season. Love averaged 13.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game last week, shooting 47.8 percent from the field. Love scored 19 points against Southern Utah which is on par for her scoring average in conference games with 18.3 points per game, the second most in the league.
