Grand Canyon Secures No. 13 Seed, Will Face No. 4 Baylor in 2025 NCAA Tournament 1st Round

2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament Digital Bracket

ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon won the 2025 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Basketball Tournament Championship to earn the program’s first ever automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament where they will travel to Waco, Texas as the No. 13 seed on Friday, March 21 to square off against No. 4 Baylor in the first round at the Foster Pavilion. The Lopes will tipoff with the Bears at 2:30 p.m. CT. 

The Lopes (32-2, 16-0 WAC) are making their first NCAA tournament appearance at the Division I level after capturing the WAC tournament title over UT Arlington 65-62 on Saturday in the conference final. Grand Canyon has won the last 30 consecutive games, holding the longest active winning streak in the country and breaking Louisiana Tech’s WAC record of 29 straight wins set in 2002-03.

The 2025 NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship game will be on Sunday, April 6 at the Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay, Florida.
