ARLINGTON, Texas – Tarleton State’s Duru Kuscu and the doubles team of Noelia Lorca and Emma Persson have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Tennis Players of the Week for the competition week ending on Sunday, March 23.

Competing on Court 2 for the Texans, the freshman Duru led her team with a resilient performance at the Nancy Hank Tennis Center. She clinched a three-set victory in her singles match against McNeese—her first singles win since returning from an injury, adding a special significance to her performance. Kuscu was instrumental in helping Tarleton State extend their match win streak to seven, the longest in the school's Division I era.

The doubles pair of Lorca and Persson dominated this week with a decisive 6-3 win over McNeese. Playing at the No. 1 doubles spot, their victory was crucial in helping Tarleton State secure a 5-2 win. This match marked their first win of the season as a duo, extending their total wins together to 14 since last season. Their consistent performance has been a key factor in clinching the doubles point for the Texans in seven of the last eight matches.
